Alcohol and Intimacy are not Friends!

IMG 2926 150x150 Alcohol and intimacy are not friends!I loved my husband so much, we were close, happy and had a great time in our ten years of marriage… In the early days our fun was very social, it revolved around spending time with friends in exotic locations, Hawaii, Monterey California to name a few. We had many nights enjoying house parties, dinner parties, Sunday’s by the pool, we had a great time, then…

But times changed, we grew up and our friends moved in different directions, some got married, moved overseas and I became a mother.  My desire to drink all the time quickly stopped with pregnancy, then months of sleepless nights then just plain old exhaustion and this underlying sense of responsibility.

As time rolled on and I became ‘normal’ again I realised that the desire to drink alcohol all the time had completely gone. What I found instead was in order to feel like I was bonding with my husband,  I needed to drink with him.  I eventually became resentful because I didn’t want to drink everyday in order to connect with him…

As time went by, complacency kicked in, amongst other challenges and the need to have some serious conversations became obvious. It was then that I got really shitty because it didn’t matter how much I told him he ‘changed’ when he drank, he didn’t believe me.  I got tired of his voice raising unreasonably, tired of the constant debate and unrealistic view points on our declining connection, tired of drinking every night instead of connecting with me, the woman he was supposed to love.

He never hit me, always went to work and achieved great results and cared and provided for our children, so how could he possibly have a problem with alcohol management?  The fact that it was a problem for me and our ability to be really connected didn’t seem to matter enough.  I  thought if he wasn’t going to put the time in to talk to me and discuss our future ‘like he cared’, I wasn’t going to feel like being intimate with him.

So our sex life was also impacted, he stayed up late watching TV, I went to bed early hoping he’d follow me… Now please don’t get me wrong, he is an honourable and great man, we simply opposed ideas of sobriety and intimacy!

A relationship can only sustain this kind of imbalance for so long… Something has got to give. In our case it was me - for many reasons most of which were my own, I left.  The challenge I now see in a lot of relationships as a coach, is how much alcohol is like wearing a disguise, it hides the real you with a mask of  happy, sad, uninhibited, grouchy, fearlessness… In any case the real emotions are avoided.

Daily alcohol consumption is a betrayal of self and is a false layer of protection that hides the real truth of your emotions… How can anyone have a real relationship when someone  is always partying, numbed by the subtly of one too many glasses of wine?

Beside the physical side effects of long term drinking; increased weight, heart disease risks, diabetes etc… The emotional side effects could very well cost you more. How about your family? Your job? Your self esteem and confidence are impacted? What about your creativity and your intuition?  Your judgement is impaired, your reality shifts and with regular drinking can actually stay wacked (that’s a professional term).

All of these life giving elements are numbed when you drink alcohol. So ask yourself, what do you have to lose, how good does it really make you feel? Are you being your authentic self? Are you making decisions that empower you or take your power away? And who wants drunk sex all the time anyway?

A true Goddess and Warrior deserves to feel everything - intimately…your body, emotions, your spirit at play, you mind racing with anticipation your skin tingling…

Some of my friends might argue that they still see me drink every now and then, so who am i to talk about not drinking… But the difference is I only drink every now and then, a special occasion you might say.  I hope that you may enjoy the infrequency of a glass every now and then and be the power house of clarity, love and intimacy in the meantime.  if you want to talk about how you can receive and give more intimacy freely with your partner, please contact me. I can help xxx

Are you a Fashion Fake?

fashion-kills

I recently wrote an article about the Power of Glamour check it out: http://www.theauthenticrelationship.com/sensuality/powerfully-glamorous/ ) and the keys to being so gorgeous on the inside and out you become a power house of confidence and self esteem.  I mean if you are glammed up, you feel hot and feel so much better about yourself, we all do, right?

Most women have experienced the stifling negativity a bad hair day can create and most women can imagine a night of wearing hot red boots with a fur coat and how absolutely incredible you’d feel, Yes?

The power of fashion and how it makes women feel is fascinating, alluring and is something to consider when it comes to how you are perceived by others and how you honestly feel about yourself….. Let’s explore the world of fashion and whether you are hiding behind it’s facade.

The difference between the spunky warm feeling of inner confidence and self esteem and being a fashion diva who’s life revolves around fashion at the expense of being unauthentic is extreme and even dangerous to your emotional health.  If you are wearing labels so obsessively that they define you, then listen up because this article is for you.

I knew a woman once who was so defined by her Tiffany jewels, her country road everything and her other designs that even after 4 years of friendship, I never really knew ‘her’.  I’m pretty sure we all know someone like this…  Everything she did revolved around being seen as something of a mogul and super success because she wore all the right things - on the outside, her life looked perfect as she was ’seen’ in all the right places.  She judged others success by their lack of labels, glitter and gold and spoke often of what others did not have, I was one of these women who lacked the cool clothes…

And every now and then after a few drinks, her defences wore down, her inhibitions revealed a scared and lonely woman who craved love and acceptance, she feared rejection and dared not let anyone too close.  Our nights always ended in tears of fears.

What I saw was a woman who hid behind her fashion perfection and used it as a false facade of confidence, bravery and success.  Now don’t get me wrong, she was very successful but what she didn’t reveal were hidden insecurities and low self esteem wrapped up in a Country Road sweater, pants and boots, we rarely glimpsed the real beauty of this gorgeous woman. Instead she missed out on some amazingly close and loyal friendships because she wouldn’t let anyone in for fear they’d see her vulnerabilities… Any real friend who embrace her anyway, right?

The sad thing is that so many women hide behind their material possessions instead of being Real and Raw so much so, their possessions define them. How many women do you know who fail to reveal their true vulnerable nature, the woman they really are in leiu of fashion fixes?

Can you proudly wear the label of your choice and know without a doubt you are being real and raw? I mean ‘this is me, this is who I am’ kind of authenticity?

mia-freedmanReal authenticity comes with embracing your sacred feminine self, it’s when you realise and love all of who you are, bad hair day and all and never edit who you are for anyone.  Real and raw is a continuous expression of self love in all you do, saying it as you feel it, speaking your truth, living life as you alone desire, making your own rules and letting the light of the goddess you are shine through those beautifully deep eyes. You are vulnerable and wear your heart for all to see because you realise there is nothing more beautiful than you being you…  There is little more precious in the world than a woman who is sovereign to her own divinity.

Mia Freedman is such a woman… Check out her site: http://www.mamamia.com.au/

When it comes to clothes and wearing yummy things that make us feel good, wear them with pride but remember who you really are. You are not a label… You are a magical being of light and love who has so much more to offer the world than something pretty to look at. Dare to reveal the real you under the facade of delicious clothing and be your glamorous self,  however you express your true nature.

3 Tips for Being Authentic & Fashionable

1)  Dare to show up as yourself, when you don’t really feel like making an effort, don’t. Show those around you who you really are without makeup and coordinated clothing. I don’t mean being a dag to the point of embarassing but I do mean it’s not always a fashion contest and you showing up as you are, gives those permission to do the same.

2)  Check in with yourself… Do you have to have your ‘look’ perfect before you leave the house? If so, check in with yourself as to why this is the case. If any of the reasons fall into the category of ‘being worried about what others think’, you could be a slave to fashion and hiding something very precious… The Real You!

3)  If you always look good and know you don’t have a problem with being authentic, revealing yourself, your true nature and you stand tall, then own that sister, you can lead the way for other women to follow… You are divine. Be sure to love and honour yourself often.

Please know that I am always here to help. If there is even a little part of you that you know is hiding behind materialism and fighting fears to be yourself, then please make an appointment to speak to me. The world deserves to see you for who you really are.

It takes a lot more time and effort being a fashion fake as opposed to being yourself and showing up as you feel… Just remember that when you are deliberating what to wear.

The Power of Eloquence

Eloquence is the powerful, elegant, forcible and effective use of language. It’s persuasive, inspiring and reflects quality and conviction.  Some might say that eloquence is a way of strikingly verbalising strong emotions in such a way to be influential.

You’ve heard the Queen deliver a speech right? She oozes eloquence as one would expect….

Eloquence is the graceful delivery of words that is fluid with a superior level of style and confidence.  Pronunciation is enhanced and there is an appreciation of a broad vocabulary and a comprehensive comprehension of language…

So why is Eloquence so important for a modern Goddess?

Well darling, have you ever met a beautiful and delightful woman, who walked smoothly, had incredible hair and was impeccably groomed, she stood with confidence and when she opened her mouth, you nearly fell over with offense?  This apparently graceful creature was loud, raucous, rough, she mumbled with slang oozing out of her mouth?

Your impression was shattered by the rude interruption of the mouth speaking and your ears ached… This negative impression is the reason why eloquence is vital to every Goddess. Eloquence is power. It’s influential and people listen to what you have to say, when you say it with style and meaningfulness.

When you couple speaking well, with grace and poise you have a winning formula for attraction and success. Having Grace is the one thing which certainly enhances your feminine strengths and appeal, and you have to know that speaking ‘like a lady’ is yet another way to become more sensual, more powerful, more confident and more HEARD by others.

Consider the gorgeous and delectable screen Goddesses of the past, very few other women surpass their beauty, grace, eloquence and poise.  When you see such women as Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayworth, Faye Dunaway, Vivian Leigh, Katherine Hepburn (to name just a few), you see perfection in the female form, femininity in its greatest hour…

Goddess women have curves, grace, poise, eloquence, heels, minimalism that speaks volumes. There is delight, inner strength, control, freedom, wisdom and above all, these Goddesses are sensual and sexy yet respected for the delicious and determined women they are.

Once upon a time as little as only one generation ago, elocution was taught at school as part of the curriculum and was a very valued lesson for young women.  Consistent vowel practice, rising of one’s eye brows as a means to lift your voice were common lessons. There was an air of ‘finishing school’ within the education system, especially in ‘all girls’ schools and now, elocution is nearly a lost art, a fading value within female education.

Do you remember the movie My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn?  This movie exemplifies the power of feminine intention and change, especially when it comes to eloquence and articulation. Language is very powerful ladies. Another great movie that demonstrates change from ladette to lady through language is Pretty Woman. There are several scenes throughout the movie that demonstrate the importance of eloquence and elegance.

The challenge with the many fading feminine arts including grace, poise, posture etc is the increase in masculinity amongst women.  When I refer to masculinity I refer to energy and the polarity that exists between feminine and masculine energy within each of us. With the increase in women working and women business owners, masculine energy is dominant and I’m afraid to say, an unsustainable way to live your feminine life.

Feminine enhancements which sustain and give an abundance of energy come in many forms, everything from taking a warm bubble bath or dancing; to speaking beautifully can enhance a woman’s attraction and the energy levels in any spirited woman.

So what are the benefits of being eloquent?

  • You will be respected for your opinion and will be heard. There is a difference between being listened to and really being heard. When you are being heard, what you have to say is truly being valued. Do you want to feel more valued and respected? (Ps. You’ll respect and value yourself more - first and foremost).
  • Eloquence will significantly contribute to your overall appeal as a woman, your femininity will be deeply enhanced and your sense of personal power will be increased.
  • Being eloquent creates opportunities. Eloquent women are influential women as mentioned in the descriptions of eloquence. If you have the power to influence others, you have the power to open yourself to new and powerful opportunities too.
  • If eloquence can inspire others, imagine what it will do for you personally?
  • Feminine energy is flowing and has movement. Eloquent delivery of words is fluid and flowing and so, being eloquent with your delivery of communication, will enhance your feminine energy, an unlimited source of strength and power.

Some valuable Tips that will assist you to be even more Eloquent, Influential and Feminine are;

  • Read out loud to yourself (or another) and give yourself constructive feedback that encourages you to pronounce more clearly, perhaps ask a friend to give you feedback, remember reading will also help to expand your vocabulary and comprehension
  • Consider voice coaching, a series of 6 sessions with the right coach can be quite affordable and make a huge difference to the quality of your communication
  • Sing out loud (I do this in the car all the time). Singing is great for strengthening your vocal cords and helps with breath control. It also gives you more awareness of volume and tonality when you speak
  • Hold a strong posture and breath from your belly, take slow deep breaths frequently to give you a sense of calm control and awareness and in this space you are more likely to speak consciously
  • Practice repeating your vowels, out loud whilst opening your mouth full and round and also practice repeating the sound each vowel makes (as opposed to saying the letter)
  • Taking extra personal development classes like Drama, Stand Up Comedy, Presentation skills & Deportment - all of these classes are for building femininity and elocution
  • Find a professional who will help you bring out your own brand of personal style. Develop that personality and be strong in your convictions about who you are… your speech will follow quite naturally when you take pride in who you are

There are so many things you can do to develop exquisite elocution and certainly, awareness is the first step toward beautifully spoken language that is most influential and powerful.  Along your journey toward become your own version of a womanly Goddess, open your heart and mind to the many possibilities and tools you have to create the woman you know lives deep within, communication is vital….

Remember, there is nothing sexier than a woman who embraces her worth, who values her womanliness and shines the torch for those around her to be a beacon of light, this you can do by speaking words of wisdom, truth and above all, love…

The Secret to Conquering a Man’s World by Cultivating your Femininity

There are times in life when it gets a little crazy, work gets super hectic, families are demanding with school commitments and sporting obligations, the house starts to slip, meals become ‘easy’ and quick options start looking more appetising and everyone wants a little bit of you…

And because you are the matriarch of your life, you give it and give it till there comes a day when you sit completely spent… exhausted, possibly ill and totally disconnected with the most important person in the world… Honey that is you.

Times are changing but the facts remain, in some ways we still live in a man’s world, how you ask, when more new businesses are being opened by women each day. How when fewer women are staying home than ever before? Surely our voice is louder than ever before, right?

In my research and years of coaching women from all walks of life, the conclusions I have come to could be the significant difference you need to hear.  Women have become more like men than ever before, in order to keep up with men, compete with them and run around like men do, women have had to compromise the very core of which they are - their femininity.

What does this really mean? Ladies, it means sometimes you have to go back to basics when you are exhausted and tired and over worked. You have to remember the very things that revitalise a woman’s energy, soul and spirit… Be a woman first and realise what our differences are and then do something about it… Read the signs you might say.

Cultivating femininity or nurturing your feminine side is really quite easy… Feminine energy is flowing and free, intuitive, creative and expressive, it has movement and emotion. It’s easily found in nature, dance, music, writing.

Feminine energy is more profoundly enhanced the deeper you travel inward… toward your soul and real emotions. So, activities like meditation, yoga, hypnotic inductions, journaling, bush walk or walking along the beach, painting, shopping, chatting with girlfriends about things that make you feel GOOD, dance expression, trusting your gut feelings and allowing yourself to FEEL…

And let’s never forget the power of a little sexual activity, some tender loving time with yourself is an immediate way to clear your head, recharge your love batteries and relieve stress… All those feel good hormones released do great things for you, so be sure to get yourself some of that honey…

All of these will recharge your batteries and get you on the road to conquering the world once again and reconnecting with the most important person in the world - You.  Honey your world needs you in one piece, so connect with you often, read the signs before you crash and take appropriate action toward rejuvenating your energy.

Might I suggest my audio program ‘Cultivating the Grrr Factor’ 60 minutes of the perfect way to chill out and enjoy some great girl time - specifically designed to bring you back to you precious… Take a quick look under Products for more information.

Sex Sells

We all know how prolific sex is in the media, it’s everywhere you look there is either a half naked  skinny, big breasted woman with too perfect hair selling something…  cars, soft drinks, music, clothes, cosmetics, accessories - And that is just the start of it.  Even music clips need to be censored these days - anything from the teen sensation The Veronicas getting it on together in their clips to Beyonce wiggling her very gorgeous ass around is selling sex. I don’t need to remind you of how much of a uproar Cher caused when she decided to ‘Turn back time’ in her unforgettable ‘duct tape’ outfit whilst riding a cannon…. Argh! But we all still watched in amazement of some kind, right?

Advertisers know they are selling to both men and women when it comes to the sexy images they portray and they also know it works but are we as consumers really that gullible?  Or is there something far more important going on that we have yet to GET before this kind of advertising stops insulting our intelligence and sexualising our children?

The fact of the matter is that Sex Sells, it always has and most likely, always will!

What I find most interesting is what our perception of sexy really is.  For the majority of men it’s not big breasted, blond bombshells wearing short skirts (like most women also think).  Most people like to look at that kind of sexy (perhaps out of intrigue) but do not take it seriously. Why? Because we want more, men want more from women and women want more from themselves (and their men).  Succumbing to ‘cheap sexy’ (the kind that reveals too much skin) does not value the person for whom they really are inside, in fact, it sells them short by a long shot and insults their intelligence.

When surveyed by Top Secret Women’s Business, the majority of men said that confidence and curves are what they found most sexy about a woman… It was how they carried themself and really felt about themself on the inside that they found most appealing about a woman.  So why are we still accepting the media’s version of sexy when what we know to be REALLY AUTHENTICALLY SEXY comes from within? Time to ditch the discriminating sexist magazine advertising and glossies and make room for what really counts - How you really see and feel about yourself, because only then will advertiser ease up on perceiving sexy any other way.

This article is about how to really sell sex, the kind that keeps your ass covered and your breasts put away so you to get anything you want - with your integrity intact and your personal power restored.  You might even become a more media savvy person as a result - by not buying into the cheap thrill of boobs and bouncing hair. You will realise that sexy is not anything that is external but quite the opposite, sexy is a state of mind, a belief, a feeling, an undeniable strength, energy that you can cultivate at anytime, once you know how…

It means that anyone can be sexy at any size, shape, height, hair colour because sexy comes from within - at any time of the day. Sexy is a state of mind and quickly translates to innate confidence and self worth when you take the promise of sex out of it.

So how do you sell your own brand of sexy and become Mistress of your own Universe, get more of what you deserve and everything you expect?

It’s easy; you do it by cultivating your very own ‘Grrr…Factor’. Grrr factor is not too different from ‘X Factor’ but it’s more about what is on the inside. Grrr is spunk, confidence, self worth, an innate sense of knowing you are on top of your game, the solid sense of being totally in love with yourself and that little sparkle in your eye - the kind that lets people know you are deeply sexy - from the inside out.  It’s in your walk, your grace and poise, how you hold your head and the deep alluring look in your eyes…

A deep inner sense of sexy is revealed externally as confidence, if you know you are sexy, confidence comes easy and so will that job of your dreams, the career path you desire, the relationship you dream about and all the things in between that really matter. So let’s look at ways you can feel more sexy and powerful.

So here are 7 secrets to begin to cultivate your Grrr Factor;

  • Get rid of your magazines - especially the ones that do not serve YOU, stop buying them (put the money in an interesting bearing fund like ING instead), not only will you increase your wealth but you will be less influenced by others perception of beauty and perfection and start to develop your own sense of style and character less the external influences
  • Turn your TV off (or sell your TV), minimise your News viewing (because it’s all doom and gloom and can dampen anyone’s mood)
  • Now you’ve minimised the media bombardment, you can start getting more in touch with YOU and just being you, get Real and Raw. Every woman knows there is more to them than meets the eye, be prepared to be more open and more revealing of the inner you - by simply deciding that is what you want. Hang out with like minded women who support you
  • Ask yourself up to 50 times a day, “Am I being a real woman right now?” Display elegance, poise, grace, softness and posture when possible - when you shift your physiology, you can shift your mindset too - so no more slouching, hold your head up high honey and be proud, practice in your mirror at home
  • Pimp up your wardrobe with some colour, frills, florals, dresses and accessories - anything feminine that spells class and style (ok you may want to omit the floral suggestion). Dare to dress yourself up so you feel great every day, remember you don’t have to let your breasts out to play to feel sexy - True sexiness comes from within
  • Move more - exercise releases feel good endorphins into your body and are great for stress relief and making you feel on top of it… So start moving more, take the stairs, go for walks, Do some in home classes (Zumba is fantastic), bike ride, gym, yoga…Anything that gets you moving…
  • Be creative and expressive - Your femininity needs a creative outlet. In order to really nestle into your sexy mindset, discover a way you can express yourself and your emotions… Write, paint, do pottery, dance, sing, meditate. Whatever you do, make it an expression of your femininity so you can cultivate even more Grrr.

So here is the juice of it ladies… You don’t have to be the prettiest, smallest, youngest or best dressed to get what you want… All you need to do is believe in yourself… That kind of sexy can sell you into the career of your dreams, the relationship you’ve always wanted, or the team you’ve always wanted to join, anything in fact. Why? Because your Grrr Factor is about you and your innate confidence, your control and internal power and no one can take that from you and that my friends is dead sexy.

So does sex sell? Yes it does and it doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon (even in spite of the relentless efforts of the many anti sexist and anti discrimination campaigns running), so best you get  the band wagon - In a Top Secret kind of way… By discovering how you can cultivate you own brand of sexy that has you shining and feeling confident from the inside out. It’s only then when we change our overall perception of what sexy really is that anything in the media will change because only then will we stop buying into their perceptions of cheap sexy.

Are women disadvantaged if they don’t look like a glossy magazine cover? No way, sexy comes from within - it’s something you have inside you, every woman is sexy… Just ask me how you can identify your own sexy style that is what I do.

Is there an easy way I can feel deeply sexy and more confident? Yes indeed, especially through Top Secret Women’s Business… We have a Goddess Academy Retreat coming up in July and you can be one of the few women who are selected to attend - You will transform your life, I promise… Ask me how and save over $500 on your weekend tuition.

Also, check out my signature Audio program Cultivating the GRRR… Factor (only $35) - it could be the ticket you need to get started or rejuvenate your own sexy brand.  And take a look at the dates for The Goddess Academy - every woman should attend this weekend away, you need it…

I am here to help and Top Secret Women’s Business fully supports every woman’s personal journey toward being the Goddess you were born to be.

One Flaw in Women

Women have strengths that amaze men….. They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in..
They stand up to injustice. They don’t take “no” for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Diaries of a Single Working Mother - Part 2

Part 2

The diary continues after the Pearls of Wisdom (from part one) have kicked in….. I was kindly reminded by many sources that life needs to change in some way (or was it me that needed to change?) In any case, I’d decided to ask the universe for assistance….

Have you ever asked for help and wondered who may respond?  Sometimes the response is in the way of a subtle sign, picture or shared, timely word by a good friend and sometimes it’s a grandiose push from the far reaches of the universe…. In any case, it’s much appreciated when the signs come in and on this day, I welcomed them.

It was getting close to Christmas and our school holidays had started.  Being a relatively new job, I knew taking holidays was out of the question, so called upon many favours from considerate friends and managed the first week with little difficulty although the feeling of guilt was heavy on my heart. I’ve never not spent this holiday time without my kids and nor have they… On top of all of that, Christmas was fast approaching, I needed to get organised, I’d yet to finalise gifts, decorations and where was I going to find the time? Parents were making enquiries about visits, kids were asking about going on holidays and all I could think about was making it through alive, intact and strong and stable.

With growing tensions at work and my growing discontent, more difficulty getting there on time and the merry-go-round of trying to transition from working mum to holiday mum each afternoon, I was exhausted…..  and then that dreaded, ever increasing feeling that I was not being true to my purpose, my passion and what I really wanted reared it’s ugly head nearly every moment of every day.

What has not being fully confident about your abilities cost you? Are you holding back, waiting for a miracle too?

This is what I’ve discovered… some more gentle reminders of what you may already know;

  1. If you have big goals, be prepared to do the work to achieve them - it might not be easy, be realistic so as to not be disappointed when you put in extra time and have no time for anything else.  What do you want more?  Do you want more of the same old stuff or something different, bigger, bolder?
  2. You really have to decide and be clear - you probably have all the resources you need to make it work, acknowledge those resources with some time in a written list and then go after them
  3. Ask for help and teach others around you how to take responsibility - Delegate. It’s a good time to learn how to delegate to others. Remember you give others a gift when you ask them for help, people love to be thought of and we love to make a difference, so by asking you are doing exactly that.
  4. When you teeter totter on the fence, everything else in your life will also teeter - ARGH!
  5. Kids spell LOVE - T.I. M. E. - make your home time your home time. Your children, pets or lovers need you to be present, so make your home your hearth and spend quality time with the people you love.
  6. Your boss also needs you to be present - he/she expects the best of you,  so give it and smile and consider how you can exceed expectations or find another job. It’s essential you love your job as not doing so can cause many stresses and upset - loving your job is a good lesson for your children to learn and is also much more fun.
  7. Putting yourself first is critical when you spend so much time giving to others. Quite often your job as a mother goes without reward and by the end of the day you are spent, exhausted and deflated.  Be nurturing and selfish - you have to fill your own well first otherwise all else can easily fall apart.  Remember the power of a great Girls Night Out (if you live in Brisbane be sure to check out Top Secret Women’s CLUB), some time with friends or a luscious long bath at the end of the day is valuing the one who is doing all the work - you!
  8. Be clear on your passions and dreams… Are you selling out, taking the safe path or in the middle of ‘risk’ and loving it?  If you are not following your dreams - they will persist, so do something about it.
  9. If what you have done in the past has not worked, reinvent it and try again and again until it does work… if it’s your purpose and you love it, it will work - but remember you may have to work hard for it.
  10. Time management is key.  Compartmentalise your life and be clear about how much time you want to spend in each area doing each necessary task.  When you are sooo busy it’s important to take stock of what is important and spend your time there.

So to conclude this part of our working mums diary I want to leave you with one important message…. Plan, organise, believe in you and trust the universe, it always delivers exactly what you need…..
